Terms of Service
The deal, in plain language.
Current version1. What BevFacts is
BevFacts is a free, browser-based generator of nutrition-facts-style labels for beverages, together with open documentation (the Manifesto and the DBNF-1 technical specification). Using the site constitutes acceptance of these terms.
2. Your inputs, your labels
The generator computes labels from values you enter or from illustrative presets. You retain all rights to labels you generate. We claim no ownership of your recipes, your drink names, or your output files.
3. Not professional advice
- Not nutrition or medical advice. Generated values are estimates for informational purposes. Preset and reference values (milks, syrups, toppings) are typical figures, not measurements of any specific product.
- Not legal or regulatory advice. Producing a label in the FDA visual style does not make a product compliant with FDA regulations, state menu-labeling law, or any other requirement. Commercial sellers must verify nutrition values by acceptable methods and satisfy the rules that apply to them.
- The model legislation is a draft. Nothing on this site is enacted law.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use BevFacts to knowingly publish false or misleading nutrition information about products you sell, to misrepresent conformance with the DBNF standard (see Part 7), or to imply endorsement by BevFacts or by any brand. Don't attack, overload, or attempt to compromise the site or its host.
5. The standard and the code
The DBNF-1 specification is open and royalty-free: implementing it requires no license, fee, or permission. The application source code is available in the public repository under its stated license terms.
6. No warranty
The site, the generator, the documentation, and all reference data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the BevFacts project and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, regulatory penalties, or claims by third parties — arising from use of the site or reliance on generated labels, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use BevFacts, which is zero.
8. Changes
We may update the tool, the documentation, and these terms at any time. Changes are made in the open with full history in the repository. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the revised terms.
