Legal Notices
Independence, trademarks, and what the words on this site are — and aren't.
Current version1. Independence
BevFacts is an independent open project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any beverage company, coffee chain, café, food-service brand, point-of-sale vendor, or government agency. Commentary on industry practices refers to sector-wide patterns and names no company.
2. Trademarks
All third-party product names, brand names, and trademarks that may be referenced anywhere in this project belong to their respective owners. Use of the FDA Nutrition Facts visual format reflects a public regulatory format (21 CFR 101.9); it implies no FDA review, approval, or endorsement of this site or of any label generated with it.
3. The DBNF mark
"Dynamic Beverage Nutrition Facts", "DBNF", and the on-label mark string are usable by anyone who actually conforms to the standard, under the rules in DBNF-1 Part 7 §7.7 — level stated, per-location, withdrawn while conformance is broken. Using the mark without conforming misrepresents the standard and these notices.
4. The model legislation
The "Beverage Nutrition Transparency Act" text in the Manifesto is a working draft of model legislation published for public comment and advocacy. It is not enacted law anywhere, it creates no rights or obligations, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Legislators and advocates are invited to adapt it freely.
5. Accuracy of reference data
Preset drinks and reference tables (milks, syrups, toppings, caffeine figures) are typical, illustrative values compiled for demonstration. They describe no specific commercial product. Vendors adopting DBNF are required by the standard itself to replace them with measured values (Part 2).
6. Content reports & takedown
If you believe content on this site infringes your rights — trademark, copyright, or otherwise — open an issue on the public repository or use GitHub's content-removal process, and identify the material and the basis of the claim. Good-faith reports are acted on promptly.
7. Governing documents
These notices sit alongside the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy. Where they overlap, the more specific document controls.
